Pinger Manufactured Home- Ham Lake, MN
May 30, 2011
“After living in a small home (28X26) and raising 4 children in it we are finally in a home that we can enjoy the whole family in it. Our family now numbers 20 and at holidays it is nice to have them all here.
Our house sits on 2 acres with a sprinkler system. So for us in our 80′s it is a real relief to have a home all on one floor, with washer & dryer and pantry.
Our home is energy efficient, no wind through the windows.
Everyone who visits comments on our large rooms.”

Protect Your Modular Home and Property by Preventing Weeds
May 25, 2011
Minnesota summers can be hard on your lawn and a nice looking home includes the yard. The whole home package is important when planning your new home project or resale. One way to protect your property value is to prevent weeds from taking over you lawn.
Here are some weed prevention tips:
1. Don’t cut your grass too low. The thicker the grass the less room for weeds.
2. Use pre-emergent weed control.
3. Fertilize your lawn throughout the season.
4. Keep your lawn watered.
Your local nursery or lawn care company can provide you with better specifics and products.
A Manufactured Home Makes Deer Camp Complete in Northern Minnesota
May 23, 2011
There have always been many uses for a manufactured home and this story proves it. I recently completed a seasonal home primarily for use during the deer hunting season. This couple was looking for a home that would be affordable, well-built and flexible options with the ability to use it year around, which they found in a manufactured home.
The home was placed on a floating slab with a nice decorative real concrete skirting to give the home a nice curb appeal. Wood flooring and cedar wood interior walls were installed to give it a great cabin feel. They spent the deer hunting season in their new home and decided they will spend more time there this winter.
Many think a manufactured home is built differently than other homes, but nothing could be further from the truth. Manufactured home builders use the same products found in any home and the same building code process. The main difference is the manufactured home conforms to the HUD building code, which is designed to allow the home to utilize a non-heated foundation.
Life Style Homes has Achieved A+ Status with the Better Business Bureau
May 11, 2011
We are proud to announce the Better Business Bureau has given our business an A+ rating. Just like in school an A+ grade is difficult to receive and there is no exception with the BBB’s grading system. The BBB takes into account the longevity of a business, the volume of complaints and resolutions and much more.
We worked very hard to get this superior rating and work even harder to keep it.
Planning the Future Basement Design for Your Modular Home Project
May 8, 2011
In Minnesota and North Dakota many people like to have a basement under their home for a storm shelter and extra living space. In many cases they don’t plan out a future design for this basement. This design is very important and should be completed prior to starting your home project as the main level layout may affect your basement plans.
I have put together of list of items to consider when planning your future basement.
Will someone be living/sleeping down there at some point? If this is the case bedrooms and a bathroom should be planned.
Make sure you have adequate storage area either in your mechanical room or other areas.
Determine where windows would fit best and make sure you have an egress window in each habitable area. Also pay attention to the direction these windows will face (north or south, etc.)
Make sure your basement sidewall height is tall enough. Suspended ceilings require more height than sheet rocked.
Taking your time on the basement design is important. Once the project has started in becomes difficult and costly to make changes. Happy designing!
